Changing Hboot

Changing Hboot is easy, but you MUST be S-OFF

  1. You must be S-OFF
  2. Download Android Flasher from here and put it in a folder on a local drive (eg c:\flasher)
  3. Download your new Hboot image (.img file) from here and put it in the same folder as Android Flasher
  4. Boot your phone into the bootloader (Power + Vol Down), then select Fastboot and press Power to enter Fastboot mode
  5. Connect your phone to the computer with the USB cable
  6. Start Android Flasher, tick HBOOT and click Begin, select your Hboot image and let it go!

  1. Talbess,

Help required! I’m stuck trying to update my hboot as per the instructions above. I cannot get Android flasher to work, it doesn’t seem to find the device and just goes “not responding” after a short while. Using “fastboot devices” from the command line yields a nil response. I tried copying the PB99IMG.zip into the root of my SD card and fastbooting but that gives me a “model ID incorrect, update failed” error.

    I have a BRAVO PVT1 SHIP S-OFF with HBOOT 0.93.0001.

    Ideas?

    • Okay, crisis over. I found an “updated” driver and applied it while phone was in Fastboot usb mode (not Hboot mode like before). This time when I ran Fastboot devices it actually reported something. So I went ahead and flashed the new hboot and it looks like it might have worked. Painful, but a result at the end.

      Sorry to bother you.

  2. I think u put the wrong link for downloading Hboot image. Should be this http://alpharev.nl/
